Though planting new vineyards is now prohibited, Malibu Wine Country is well-established and has been operating for decades.

Malibu Wine Country begins after the first tunnel on Kanan Dume Road, with several large winery estates. It then extends west, following Mulholland Highway to Decker Canyon. Many of the large parcels have been planted and used as both wineries or event sites, while others have opted for use as private ranches or estates. Notable local vineyards include Rosenthal, Saddlerock Ranch, Cielo Farms, and Rocky Oaks.

While finding an operating vineyard or property with rights to plant is no easy task, there are frequently homes, ranches, and lots for sale in this beautiful corridor of the Santa Monica Mountains.
