Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Malibu
Rumors spread very quickly that the newlywed couple Harry and Meghan would be moving to L.A.’s beachfront paradise of Malibu, and why wouldn’t they? After the tabloids picked up the story, it spread quickly throughout the usual news outlets with numbers of $16 to $80 Million being thrown around. It only takes a little bit of searching the internet to see that this is likely just a rumor on several accounts.
The couple is based in Kensington currently and that is not likely to change as they are British royalty. Also, Meghan is applying for citizenship, she cannot spend more than 90 days outside of the United Kingdom during that process.
That said, our team couldn’t help but wonder what they would buy if they were pursuing their dream house in Malibu. Here are our official suggestions for Harry and Meghan’s Malibu home:
The View: Panoramic Pacific
Probably at the top of the list, Harry and Meghan would need an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean. While many properties in Malibu do offer slivers or certain angles of the ocean, finding a true panoramic experience can be tricky. Up in the hills above Paradise Cove, these views abound while being away from the noise and traffic of Pacific Coast Hwy. Demonstrated here at 6201 Murphy Way.
The Layout: Made to Entertain
When choosing a home in Malibu, the layout is critical. While some prefer the more casual and laid-back style of classic Malibu, as British royalty we think the happy couple would prefer a proper Malibu Estate. An infinity pool/spa, ample outdoor lounging space, and a regal area to entertain both inside and outside. We think something like 27465 Winding Way would work just fine.
Most Important: Privacy
Being able to actually retreat, relax and enjoy what Malibu is all about is paramount. What’s the point of going to vacation in the public eye? While many of Malibu’s beach homes cannot provide this sort of seclusion, just a few minutes back into the hills is a very different story. Here at 23313 Carbon Mesa Rd., trees and rolling hills give way to stunning views of the Pacific Ocean in Eastern Malibu.
There are so many things to consider when buying your Malibu dream house, but we think these three belong at the very top. Is it time to find yours?
