Malibu rentals can be an incredible experience. People from all over the world come to Malibu to enjoy the warm weather, mild climate, incredible beaches and great community have to offer.  With Malibu rentals  not only do you have a truly unparalleled array of luxurious housing with stunning architecture, incredible locations and breathtaking views but you will also have an opportunity to enjoy the lifestyle that many would never get to experience even if it is only for just a short while. Many people who have leases in Malibu end up getting ‘the Malibu bug’ and usually end up buying something once they have become more familiar with the lay of the land and are better acquainted with the community and other areas.

However, before you get carried away imagining yourself relaxing on a beachfront property, or taking in the beautiful mountain views, there are a few things to remember.

First, you should only rent your Malibu house or condo from a good landlord. That should go without saying, but unfortunately, many people can become too emotionally attached to a particular property and sometime will not pay attention to an unprofessional landlord or perhaps warning signs that might indicate how the relationship of the lease might play out.

Secondly, consider what you might need in a Malibu rental if you are there for only the short term. Often times, the needs of the short term rental are different than the needs of a longer term rental. If you are renting in the short term, for example, you might want to have more entertaining space and areas to store beach toys. Whereas if you are rental for the long term you might be more comfortable with a smaller home and would be fine with renting something less costly.

Thirdly, consider the responsibility of renting. If your Malibu rental is a huge home, you might be overwhelmed trying to keep it clean. The idea of renting in Malibu is to be stress free and able to enjoy the nature that abounds in Malibu.

Jessica grew up in New Zealand where her father was a custom home builder. After graduating from University in New Zealand, Jessica followed the snow to Mammoth Lakes in California and it was there that she began her real estate career in 1999. She operated as a real estate salesperson in the Lake Tahoe area and was later recruited by multiple ski development companies. In this role, Jessica sold ski-in ski-out condos, townhomes, and custom homesites adjacent to ski-resorts and private golf courses.

In 2012, Jessica married her husband and Malibu realtor, Tony Mark, and relocated to Malibu where she now resides on Point Dume. Jessica truly embodies the Malibu lifestyle; when not working, you can find her surfing, cycling, mountain biking, running, riding horses, snowboarding, and spending time with her family.
